McLaren Bay Special Care Achieves PCAB Accreditation

Published on Wednesday, April 19, 2017

McLaren Bay Special Care proudly announces its achievement of Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board (PCAB), a service of Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC), for patient specific prescriptions of sterile compounds. The accreditation is awarded in recognition of the pharmacy’s commitment to meeting and/or exceeding national quality standards.

Achieving accreditation is a process where healthcare organizations demonstrate compliance with national standards. PCAB accreditation reflects an organization’s dedication and commitment to meeting standards that facilitate a higher level of performance and patient care.

“McLaren Bay Special Care is committed to delivering the highest quality compounded medications to our patients” said Monica Baranski, MBSC President. “By achieving PCAB Accreditation, our patients can be assured that our organization follows industry best practices and is in compliance with the industry’s most stringent national standards.”

Compounding medications is an integral part of the practice of pharmacy and the demand for these customized medications increases every year. Compounded medications are prescriptions that are written by physicians, veterinarians, and other legally authorized prescribers and prepared for an individual patient by a specially trained pharmacist.
