Welcome to McLaren Bay Medical Foundation
Our Mission: "McLaren Bay Medical Foundation raises funds and supports McLaren Bay Region and McLaren Bay Special Care in their mission of improving the health of the communities they serve."
McLaren Bay Medical Foundation and the Saginaw Spirit Charitable Foundation will present “Talk Today - Hope for Tomorrow” at the Dow Event Center on the evening of Saturday, January 31, 2015. This first annual event is an effort to bring to light mental health issues and bring an end to the stigma that surrounds them.
Professionals from area mental health agencies will be on hand when the doors open at 5 p.m. to discuss referral sources that can provide immediate help in the event that a person may need assistance. A short presentation will also precede the game, which begins at 7:35 p.m.
“Mental Health issues are illnesses that many people believe have stigmas attached to them . They feel uncomfortable talking to anyone about the problems, and in some cases, refuse to discuss them altogether as they feel others will see them as “strange,” “weak” or “weird,” said Konnie Gill, Director, McLaren Bay Medical Foundation. “This program is an effort to reach out to those afflicted and help them realize that they are not alone. Many people care and are willing to help.”
Craig Goslin, Saginaw Spirit President, said, “Our hope is that through this very important partnership with McLaren Bay Medical Foundation and the Saginaw Spirit Charitable Foundation, we will work together to communicate, create awareness and educate people throughout the Great Lakes Bay Region.” Goslin continued, “We want to be part of a solution so people can recognize a mental health concern in themselves, a family member or friend and learn where they can go for help, so they “Talk Today and have Hope for Tomorrow.”...
