McLaren Fitness works hard to make sure all members and guests have a positive experience while enjoying our facility. The following policies have been implemented to that end.
- Enrollment Fee- There is a $50 enrollment fee for all new members. This fee will be reassessed for memberships that have been expired for more than a year.
- Refund/Transfer/Vacation Policy- There are no vacation holds. Memberships are not refundable, nor are they transferable.
- Youth Policy- Children may become members at age 12. An adult 18 years or older must be present with children ages 12-15 to be accountable for their actions and safety. Adults must have a membership or purchase a day pass to work out with a child.
- Member Guests- Members may bring a guest in to work out with them. Day passes for member guests are $5/day.
- Day/Week Passes- May be purchased in advance or on a walk-in basis. Guests using the facility without a current member will be charged $10 for the day or $20 for a week pass.
- Medical Hold Policy- Memberships may be put on hold for injuries, illnesses, or surgeries that prevent exercise. A physician's note stating the dates of illness/injury is REQUIRED for time to be added. Clearance from a physician will be required to lift medical hold.
- Lost and Found- We retain items for 30 days and then donate them to a local charity. McLaren Fitness is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
- Payment Policy- All memberships are paid in advance and will not be billed. Checks, cash, credit cards and, in some cases, payroll deduction will be accepted methods of payment. Returned checks are subject to a $25 returned check fee.
- Free Weight Policy- Weights are not to be dropped or allowed to "slam" together. Please ask a staff member for help spotting heavy lifts. Those who consistently drop weights or lift in an unsafe manner may be asked to leave if not corrected.
- Shoe Policy- Closed toe athletic shoes must be worn at all times on the fitness floor. Some exceptions are made for group exercise classes. Dress shoes, heeled shoes, open toed shoes, flip flops, sandals and heavy work boots are not acceptable footwear. During inclement weather, we ask that you wear different shoes inside on the fitness floor than you wear outside to help protect and maintain our exercise equipment.
- Locker Policy- Day use lockers are available at no charge. Please lock all items and take the key with you. You are responsible for the key and we CAN NOT open your locker without it! Do not leave items in day use lockers overnight. Return the key to the lock for the next person to use. Rental lockers are available for a small monthly fee. Your name may be placed on a waiting list until one becomes available.
- Lost/Stolen Items- Please leave valuable items at home or locked in a vehicle. If you think something was stolen, please inform a staff member immediately. WCF is not responsible for anything lost, stolen or damaged.
- Scan Card Policy- Please scan in EVERY time you work out. If you lose or break your card, a new one can be issued. We will provide you with a maximum of 3 cards before charging you for a new one.
- Equipment Cleaning Policy- Disinfectant sprays and rags are provided at several stations on the workout floor. Please wipe equipment handles, seats and displays after you are finished using it.
- Conduct Policy- We are a family facility. Please dress appropriately for a public gym that includes children and adults. Inappropriate conduct including, but not limited to, threats, racial slurs, derogatory remarks, sexual harassment and failure to follow McLaren Fitness policies will not be tolerated. McLaren Fitness has the right to refuse or discontinue any membership if the conduct policy is violated. Cell phone use should be limited to emergency phone calls or short conversations so as not to disturb others working out around you.
- Tobacco Policy- As a part of McLaren-Central Michigan, Wellness Central is a tobacco free campus. Use of tobacco products is not permitted on site, including the parking lot of Wellness Central.
