KRISTY POLLATZ, M.A., NSCA-CPT, ACE

Kristy Pollatz is the Group Exercise Coordinator for McLaren Fitness.  She obtained her national certification in-group exercise through American Council on Exercise (ACE) in 1994.  She has been teaching group exercise for a total of twelve years.

JUDI SWARTZ, B.S., M.A., AFAA

Fitness Specialist Judi Swartz has been an aerobics instructor at McLaren Fitness since 2002. She is a certified Personal Trainer through AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America). She holds certifications in Primary Group Exercise, and Kickboxing from AFAA. She is also an Examiner for AFAA, adjudicating practical exams for new aerobics instructors. She also holds certifications in Turbo Kick© and PiYo© from Powder Blue Productions as well as certifications in Zumba, Zumba Toning, and Zumba Gold.. She has been certified to teach MSROM (Muscular Strength and Range of Motion), Cardio Circuit, and Yoga Stretch for the Sliver Sneakers® Program. Judi is currently a student at CMU taking classes in Exercise Science. She is a group exercise instructor at Nimkee Fitness Center as well as a temporary faculty member at CMU. Judi holds B.S. and M.A. degrees in education. She is a dance instructor for tap and ballroom at Off Broadway Studio of Performing Arts in Mt. Pleasant, and at the Academy of Performing Arts in Alma. Judi is a "life long learner", and believes that it is never too late to begin an exercise program and develop new skills. 

 

BARB TORPY, AFAA

Barb Torpy has been a group exercise instructor at McLaren Fitness since 2009.  She has her Primary Group Exercise Instructor certification form the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) as well as her PiYo certification from Powder Blue Productions.

CINDY BORDER, AFAA

Classes: Body Sculpt, Butt & Gut, CardioKick, Step

Cindy Border started teaching group exercise classes for McLaren Fitness in February 2010.  She holds her Primary Group Exercise Instructor Certification through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA).

LISA CROSS, ACE

Classes: Body Sculpt, Step

Lisa Cross received her Insturctor Certification from the American Council on Exercise (ACE) in 1991 and has been teaching classes ever since.  She is also a Health Educator with the Central Michigan District Health Department.

 

JENNIFER FALL, AFAA

Jennifer Fall received her Primary Group Exercise certification from the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America in 1996 and has been teaching group exercise for about 14 years, 8 of which have been with McLaren Fitness.

AUSTEN FUSSMAN

Classes: PiYo, Yoga

Austen Fussman has been teaching group exercise since 2007.  She currently holds her PiYo certification from Powder Blue Productions and has earned her 200 hour Teacher Training Certification from Prairie Yoga in Illinois.

BILL MRDEZA
Teaching Facility: McLaren Fitness

Classes: Aikido Basics

Bill has been studying Aikido at the Shinki Rengo Mt. Pleasant Dojo under Scott Vogel Sensei since January 1997.  He currently holds the rank of 2nd Kyu.  

JENI SOELTNER, AFAA

Jeni Soeltner has been teaching group exercise since 2009.  She obtained her Primary Group Exercise Instructor certification through the Aerobic and Fitness Association of America (AFAA).

PAULA STARNER, AFAA

Paula Starner has been teaching group exercise since 1996.  Paula has her Primary Group Exercise Instructor certification through the Aerobic and Fitness Association of America (AFAA).  She also holds certifications in TurboKick and PiYo.  Paula has been teaching at McLaren Fitness since 2001.

SHARON STEVENSON
Teaching Facility: McLaren Fitness

Classes: Yoga

Sharon Stevenson has been teaching yoga classes at McLaren Fitness since...  She is a certified 200 hour White Lotus Yoga Instructor which she obtained in Santa Barbara, CA.  Sharon is currently a member of the Michigan Yoga Association and is currently working on obtaining her Yoga Alliance registration.  Sharon has spent an additional 185 hours continuing her yoga education with 144 hours with Rod Stryker, Himalaya Institute Yagaraj, Parayoga, Tantra Yoga - Asheville, NC, Yoga for Fulfillment - Kripalu Yoga, MA. Marma Yoga, Hands-on Adjustment - Carbondale, CO, and Sequencing - Chicago, IL.  20 hours with Gary Kraftsow, Yoga for Wellness - Indianapolis, IN, and 21 hours with Doug Keller, Principles of Anasaura Yoga.

 

SCOTT VOGEL, D.O.
Teaching Facility: McLaren Fitness

Classes: Aikido

Scott Vogel teaches Shinki style Aikido.  He has a 3rd degree black belt in Aikido and is registered at the Aikikai in Tokyo, Japan.  Scott has studied Aikido since 1991 along with various other martial arts since 1979.
