The Hospital Safety Score is a public service provided by The Leapfrog Group—a nonprofit organization committed to driving quality, safety, and transparency in the U.S. health system—and is becoming the gold standard measure of patient safety. More than 2,500 U.S. hospitals are rated with an A, B, C, D, or F score representing a hospital’s overall capacity to keep patients safe from preventable medical errors, injuries and infections within the hospital. The score began in June, 2012 and is updated twice annually.

“Receiving the A grade for patient safety is truly an honor shared by our entire hospital, with our patients being the ultimate beneficiaries,” Bill Lawrence, MCM President and CEO said. “The hospital has consistently scored well which is a reflection of the top-quality care our physicians, nurses and staff provide, and our determination to eliminate preventable harm.”
