The field of medical oncology is experiencing advances in targeted therapies and a decrease of side effects for many types of chemotherapy and prescriptive cancer treatment. Often the most cutting-edge drug therapy is available to patients through clinical trials. McLaren Cancer Institute offers Phase II and Phase III investigative protocols approved by the National Comprehensive Cancer Institute through the following organizations:

  • National Surgical Adjuvant Breast Project (NSABP)
  • Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG)
  • Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology
  • Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG)

In addition to clinical trials, physicians will consider all FDA-approved therapies when determining an individual’s best treatment plan.
