Nicotine use is a proven health and safety hazard and is inconsistent with our healthcare mission. The use of nicotine products and exposure to secondhand smoke has serious adverse effects.

In keeping with our healthcare mission and as a health care leader, we must lead by example in maintaining a healthy and safe environment for all. As of January 1, 2013, McLaren Greater Lansing will not hire nicotine users and will test for nicotine during the pre-employment process. All offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check, drug screening, nicotine test and employment background review.
