Julia M. Libcke named chief nursing officer of McLaren Macomb

MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich.—Julia M. Libcke, DNP, RN, CRRN, NEA-BC, has been named chief nursing officer at McLaren Macomb, the 288-bed acute care hospital in Mount Clemens.

She assumed her role effective Aug. 7, 2017.

“McLaren Macomb is a progressive organization, providing many unique and exciting opportunities for patient care services,” Libcke said. “I’m excited to join this hospital and work with a very caring and committed nursing staff.”

Libcke brings more than 30 years of nursing experience to her position, beginning as a staff nurse before transitioning into roles of increasing responsibility, ultimately rising to chief nursing officer at the DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan in Detroit.

“The importance of our nurses’ role in providing quality patient care cannot be overstated,” said Tom Brisse, president and CEO of McLaren Macomb. “Julia can provide strong leadership to our nursing staff with a direct focus on patient care. Her extensive knowledge and experience will be a great asset to our leadership team.”

Libcke holds a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Madonna University, first earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan and a Master’s of Science in Nursing from Oakland University.

In her role as chief nursing officer, she will provide leadership and direction to McLaren Macomb’s more than 400 nurses, creating a positive, collaborative and patient-focused work environment.
