Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Education
Whether you're a licensed EMS professional looking to sharpen your skills, interested in a career in the world of emergency medical services, or are looking to provide CPR and First Aid training for your group, McLaren Bay Region EMS Education has something for you.
McLaren Bay Region EMS Education is a state approved EMS Education Sponsor, and frequently offers initial EMR (formerly MFR), EMT, and Paramedic courses, and boasts one of the best NREMT pass rates in Michigan. Also offered are a wide variety of continuing education courses for licensed EMS professionals, including Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), Pediatric Education for Prehospital Providers (PEPP), Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS), EMS Refresher, and American Heart CPR- Healthcare Provider. On top of that, various interesting continuing education courses such as Priority 2: Animal Prehospital Emergency Services and Advanced Vehicle Extrication are offered periodically.
Classes are held in large, comfortable classrooms with state-of-the-art audio and visual systems. Students are also trained using a large assortment of real EMS equipment along with realistic mannequins and models. For primary EMR, EMT, and paramedic courses, all clinical hours are scheduled with McLaren Bay Region EMS along with rotations through McLaren Bay Region's emergency department, cath lab, ICU, and several other departments within the McLaren Bay Region healthcare system. Students are able to study independently outside of class through different websites and computer based material provided by the instructors.
American Heart Association CPR and First Aid classes are periodically held at our facilities, however, certified instructors also bring courses to various organizations throughout Mid-Michigan.
McLaren Bay Region EMS Education staff includes nearly 10 state licensed EMS Instructor/Coordinators who collectively bring over a century of experience, numerous specialty instructors, and a variety of expert guest lecturers brought in from all over Michigan to provide students with the most complete and comprehensive training in the region.
