McLaren Homecare Group promotes director of Hospice

DAVISON, Mich. — McLaren Homecare Group is pleased to announce the promotion of Cindy Tomlinson, MSN, RN, from director of hospice to vice president of hospice. Prior to joining McLaren Homecare Group in March 2016, Tomlinson worked for Hospice of Michigan for more than two decades. While at Hospice of Michigan, Tomlinson held several leadership positions including program director, regional director, program director for At Home Support, and director of admissions.

As director of hospice, Tomlinson effectively reorganized the structure of the hospice program and added more than 80 qualified hospice nursing staff. Under Tomlinson’s leadership, McLaren Hospice has seen a 41 percent increase in census and a 227 percent increase in net income.

Additionally, Tomlinson has expanded the service area of McLaren Hospice in Mt. Pleasant and Bay City, and is in the process of adding a location in Port Huron. In her new role as vice president of hospice, Tomlinson will continue to implement her growth plan in both the Mid-Michigan and Southeast Michigan markets, as well as lead the development of a comprehensive palliative care program, which will launch on October 9.

“Cindy has made a serious difference in our hospice team’s quality of care, customer service and employee engagement in less than a year. She has done a superior job as director of hospice in the time she has been part of our team, and deserves to be rewarded and recognized for her contributions. She has unquestionably earned this promotion,” said Nancy Martin, President of Homecare and Hospice.

Tomlinson is an active member of the American Nurses Association (ANA), Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association (HPNA), Michigan Hospice & Palliative Care Organization (MHPCO), and National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO).
