Harbor Springs’ Walter Fisher Receives Jack Clark Philanthropy and Service Award
Walter Fisher was chosen as the fourth recipient of the Jack Clark Philanthropy and Service Award for his 30 years of selfless dedication to the well-being of McLaren Northern Michigan.
Years before McLaren Northern Michigan came into being, Mr. Fisher was a trustee of the Lockwood-MacDonald Hospital. As its chairman, he played an integral role in the 1977 merger of Lockwood-MacDonald and Little Traverse Hospitals to create Northern Michigan Hospital, and he served on its first board of trustees. “Walter has been a hospital supporter for many, many years, and his enthusiasm and advocacy have seen us through decades of Hospital history,” says Miles Trumble, MD, last year’s award recipient.
Nominees for the Jack Clark Philanthropy and Service Award are chosen by their peers on the McLaren Northern Michigan Foundation board of trustees. The award is named for Jack Clark, Petoskey attorney and civic leader, who died in 2003, after decades of selfless community involvement and Hospital philanthropy. “Walter Fisher is a fitting recipient of this award; he is an inspiration for all of us,” says Moon Seagren, Chief Development Officer for the McLaren Northern Michigan Foundation.” |
