Harbor Springs Residen Receives Jack Clark Philanthropy and Service Award

HARBOR SPRINGS RESIDENT RECEIVES
JACK CLARK PHILANTHROPY AND SERVICE AWARD


Petoskey, Mich – July 24, 2012 – John E. Demmer was honored Monday night with the Jack Clark Philanthropy and Service Award for his exceptional contributions to the McLaren Northern Michigan Foundation.

“This award is presented to individuals who are visionaries and philanthropists at heart,” said Ham Schirmer, Chair of the McLaren Northern Michigan Foundation Board of Trustees. “As community servants, these individuals have provided direction and leadership to the Foundation and have been instrumental in making our Health System what it is today.”

Demmer was recognized for his remarkable history with McLaren Northern Michigan, which he and his family have supported for almost 30 years. Most recently, Demmer made the largest single cash donation for the construction of the John and Marnie Wellness Pavilion and Dialysis Center, which opened July of 2011.

“John is well-known for his dedication to his friends and neighbors, and to our community,” added Moon Seagren, Chief Development Officer for McLaren Northern Michigan Foundation. “It is privilege to honor such a humble and generous man, who has changed so many lives for the better.”

Recipients of the Jack Clark Philanthropy and Service Award are nominated the McLaren Northern Michigan Foundation board of trustees. The award was presented to Mr. John Demmer for his vision and leadership. For the last four years, the McLaren Northern Michigan Foundation has awarded the Jack Clark Philanthropy and Service Award. Past recipients include Thomas Fairbairn, Sr., Lawrence Buhl, Jr., and Miles Trumble, MD and Walter Fisher.
