Wills
A Bequest is a will provision that becomes effective upon an individual's death and allocates all or part of the individual's estate to McLaren Northern Michigan Foundation.

A Bequest can be general or specific. (Sample Bequest Provisions)

A specific Bequest may be designated to one or more of the Foundation's Special Purpose Funds.

Bequests may be revocable or subject to change, or irrevocable and not subject to change. Irrevocable Bequests help the Foundation identify funds that may be availability for future projects.

To become a member of the Heritage Society, donors may wish to notify the Foundation of their charitable intentions. (Sample Notice Letter)


Trusts
A Beneficiary designation is a trust provision that becomes effective according to the terms of the trust.

The trust terms may specify that McLaren Northern Michigan Foundation will receive a specific amount or percent of the trust assets upon an individual's death, the occurrence of a specified event or at a specific time.

A trust is funded by assets that have been conveyed to it so that they will be titled in the name of the trust.

A beneficiary designation is similar to a bequest and can be general or specific. (Sample Bequest Provisions)

Trust assets being donated to McLaren Northern Michigan Foundation may be designated to one or more of the Foundation's Special Purpose Funds.

Beneficiary designations may be revocable or subject to change, or irrevocable and not subject to change. Irrevocable Beneficiary designations help the Foundation identify funds that may be available for future projects.
