Donors are able to designate their gift to the area of their choice or simply contribute to McLaren Port Huron's area of greatest need. All gifts to McLaren Port Huron Foundation stay right here in your community and are tax deductible as allowed by current IRS regulations to this 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.

Beacon Society - Lighting the Way
The Beacon Society was founded in 1991 to recognize our most generous supporters, those that make a minimum commitment of $10,000 over a 10-year period. Just as a lighthouse beacon provides sound guidance and direction for shipping, the Beacon Society lights the way for excellence in the health of our community. Gifts made through the Society have had a major impact on McLaren Port Huron, contributing to new technology, service line enhancements, community programs and staff education.
Members of the Beacon Society promote health and hope, a rare and valuable gift. In appreciation, members receive special recognition in the main lobby of the hospital, and are also recognized in hospital newsletters, and other publications. In addition, Beacon members receive special invitations to significant functions and events throughout the year. There are currently 150 Beacon Society members.

TAKE A MOMENT TO HONOR YOUR CAREGIVER
Thank you for choosing McLaren Port Huron for your recent health care needs. Our patients and their families often tell us it is difficult to express the gratitude they feel for the caregivers who relieved their pain, listened to their needs, made them comfortable or even saved their lives. While no thanks are necessary, a gift to the McLaren Port Huron Foundation is a meaningful way to thank your doctor, nurse or other staff, and honor the work they do.
GIVING BACK
Gifts received through this program recognize deserving caregivers, and also provide a healthier tomorrow for our community. As a non-profit hospital, McLaren Port Huron provides millions of dollars in charity care each year, as well as community benefit activities like free health screenings, educational programs and partnerships with our local schools.
When you make a donation, the caregiver will be informed of your thoughtful gift and will receive a Guardian Angel pin, symbolizing your appreciation.
Precious Gifts
Celebrating a New Life
At McLaren Port Huron we realize that the birth of a child is one of life's most important occasions. The Precious Gifts program was developed to provide a unique opportunity for parents, grandparents, family members and friends to celebrate the arrival of a new baby.
Your Precious Gifts contribution will be used to purchase equipment to enhance the quality of care provided by McLaren Port Huron's maternal and infant care services.
Parents of babies honored in the Precious Gifts program will receive a card and a keepsake with the baby's name and birthdate. The baby's name and birthdate will also be permanently recognized on the Precious Gifts mural located in the Miriam F. Acheson Family Birth Place.

Tree of Life
Paying Tribute
The Tree of Life is a unique program for donors who wish to permanently pay tribute to family members and friends through a contribution to McLaren Port Huron.
Tribute gifts are given for a wide variety of occasions. Some are given in honor of birthdays, anniversaries or retirements; others are given as a distinctive and meaningful way to memorialize a loved one.
Tree of Life gifts convey a message of caring to family members, friends and colleagues, and also to the patients who will directly benefit from these thoughtful tributes. The proceeds will help McLaren Port Huron continue to provide quality healthcare for our community.
Your participation in the Tree of Life program is welcome! The contribution for a leaf is $500, an apple is $2,500 and a stone is $5,000. Each leaf, apple and stone can be engraved with a personal message.
About the Sculpture
The Tree of Life is hand cast in antique bronze and solid brass. It was designed for the hospital by Sanford Werfel, a noted New Jersey sculptor who was commissioned by the Statue of Liberty Foundation to design, sculpt and cast the new cornerstone tablet for the refurbished Statue of Liberty.
The sculpture is approximately seven feet high and eight feet in diameter. The tree contains 500 leaves, 18 apples and at the base of the tree is a grouping of 12 stones. An inscription in the trunk reads:
"Here at whatever hour you come, you will find light and help and human kindness."
