Community program explores living well after diagnosis of a serious illness

Port Huron, MI – McLaren Port Huron, in conjunction with McLaren Homecare Group and Marwood Nursing and Rehab, will present a community program titled Life After Diagnosis: Expert Advice on Living Well With Serious Illness. The program will take place Thursday, March 9, 1 – 2:30 p.m., in the McLaren Port Huron Duffy Classrooms.

Dr. Steven Pantilat, a renowned international expert in palliative care, will present innovative approaches for dealing with a serious illness, including:
•    Taking the first steps after diagnosis
•    Finding the right care and support
•    Planning your future so your loved ones don’t have to
•    Advice on how to tackle the most difficult treatment decisions, and how to choose treatments that help more than they hurt
•    Staying consistent with values and personal goals, and living as well as possible for as long as possible
