  • We have structured our process to mimic credentialing which you will be going through once you have completed your Residency.
    • Hence, we will:
    • Perform a background check on you
    • Ask you to answer a series of questions by filling out the attached credentialing.
    • Query the National Practitioners Data Bank (not applicable for new Intern candidates)
  • If selected after review of ERAS application, we will ask you to interview at McLaren Bay Region when it is convenient for you.
  • We will pay for your interview expenses, for example, plane fare or mileage, hotel and meals.
  • We ask you to be prepared to interview us as you will be spending anywhere from one to three years with us and we want you to be satisfied.
  • We will pick you up from the airport and chauffeur you around town for your convenience.  Therefore, you will not need to rent a car.
  • The interview will be conducted in 5 half-hour intervals by 5 different physicians who are affiliated with the Graduate Medical Education program. There are no trick questions.
  • The 5 physicians will fill out an evaluation form on your candidacy.
  • We will give you an answer as quickly as possible.
  • We will send you a contract if it is appropriate to do so.
  • Selection of candidates will be done through ERAS

Phone Interviews:

We will conduct phone interviews only as a last resort. We feel that selecting an Intern or Resident Program is a major step in your career and one that should be made carefully after all the data has been analyzed. We believe that our program compares favorably to any program in the United States and that is why we prefer face-to-face interviews.
