McLaren Central Michigan Designated Regional Comprehensive Primary Health Care Center

Published on Wednesday, October 01, 2014
Isabella Citizens for Health, Inc, the organization created to develop a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Isabella County, received its FQHC Look-Alike Designation. The designation is awarded by the United States Department of Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). These health centers care for approximately 21 million people across the country. While there are more than 2100 FQHCs in the United States and about 45 in Michigan, the Central Michigan region was vacant of such a health center. FQHCs provide greater access to comprehensive primary health care for people of all ages regardless of insurance status. Family medicine providers at the health center include Ramon Melendez, MD, Michael McConnon, MD, Lacey Garder, PA, and David Johns, PA. The health center is located in the Central Michigan Health Park at 2940 Health Parkway in Mt. Pleasant.
