McLaren Clarkston is located on 95 acres in northern Oakland County, off Sashabaw Road in Clarkston, Michigan. The Clarkston Medical Building is a 135,000 sq. ft., state-of-the-art facility which houses the Clarkston Medical Group (CMG), an array of outpatient healthcare services and more than 20 specialty physician practices. These services include 24-hour urgent care, home medical equipment, an outpatient surgery center, bariatric services, breast care with digital mammography, laboratory medicine services, an on-site fitness center, physical therapy services, sleep diagnostics, sports medicine, wound care, and diagnostic imaging with 64-slice CT scanning. The Karmanos Cancer Institute at Clarkston, a 42,000 sq. ft. freestanding cancer center, provides the most advanced services in cancer care and treatment, including state-of-the-art radiation therapy, medical oncology, and mobile PET/CT imaging.

Additional services at Karmanos Cancer Institute-Clarkston include a community resource center and medical library, along with a retail boutique that will cater to the unique requirements of cancer patients. Special emphasis is also given to educational programming and family support services. The five-acre Garden of Healing and Renewal features walking paths, sitting areas, fountains and sculptures, providing a calm and natural setting for healing, exercise, reflection and quiet conversation. It is open to the public to use and enjoy.

About Our Community

Independence Township 

The Charter Township of Independence is a growing residential community located in northern Oakland County, some 45 miles Northwest of Detroit. Situated in a rural atmosphere, the community is surrounded by thousands of acres of rolling hills, lakes, woodlands, farms and quiet country roads and marshes. Though frequently referred to as Clarkston, it is Independence Township that is the home of DTE Energy Music Theatre and Pine Knob Ski Resort.  

City of the Village of Clarkston

Located in the heart of Independence Township, the city is approximately 1/2 square mile with a population of around 900.  Most homes in the city are single family residences.  Some are very old, with great character. 

The picturesque Main Street includes a two block retail and business area with unique shopping and dining.  The hometown feel of the city can be felt throughout the year, but particularly during any of the holiday parades and festivals.
