McLaren Health Care named to Crain’s 2022 list of Michigan's Largest Employers

GRAND BLANC, Mich.—McLaren Health Care, with several hospitals and dozens of outpatient facilities covering the majority of the state, is included on the list of Michigan’s Largest Employers for 2022 from Crain’s Detroit Business.

With 19,914 employees, McLaren Health Care landed at no. 11 on the list of nearly 150 landmark Michigan-based businesses.

“Being included on this list — and listed so near the top — affirms the value that our team members see McLaren as an employer of choice where you can have a rewarding career,” said Kimberly Keaton Williams, vice president of talent acquisition and development & chief diversity officer at McLaren Health Care. “The pride we feel about being one of the largest employers in Michigan is matched only by the gratitude and appreciation we have for our dedicated team members.”

Compiled annually, Crain’s list features the largest businesses headquartered in Michigan based on the number of employees located within the state.

McLaren Health Care, with 12 Michigan-based hospitals, including the Karmanos Cancer Institute in Detroit, has solidified its presence in Michigan by increasing access to care through the addition of multiple hospitals in recent years while still investing in its existing facilities and expanding programs to feature the latest technologies.

This dedication to Michigan health care is illustrated by the system’s recent $600 million investment in a new, modern McLaren Greater Lansing hospital — opened in March — and the introduction of the Flint-based McLaren Proton Therapy Center in 2019, whose cancer-fighting impact has warranted an expansion in 2022.
