Since 1990 residents, part-time residents, and vacationers have trusted McLaren Northern Michigan MedCenter for preventive health, long-term health conditions, urgent illnesses, and minor injuries. Dermatological conditions, high blood pressure, diabetes, lacerations, joint injections, and even broken bones – these conditions can be taken care of right in your community. Our providers are competent with the broadest range of health conditions and all age groups.

McLaren Northern Michigan MedCenter was established originally as Quick Care by Dr. Gustav Lo, who remains medical director of our three current clinic locations: Petoskey North (formerly Quick Care), Petoskey South (formerly Urgent Care), and Boyne City. McLaren Northern Michigan MedCenter is the only seven-day primary care/urgent care facility in the region.

Meet Our Providers

  • Gus Lo, MD

    Dr. Gustav Lo is the medical director of McLaren Northern Michigan MedCenter, an established primary practice, with two locations in Petoskey and one in Boyne City, focused on family practice, urgent care, and occupational medicine. Dr. Lo earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Michigan State University and his English and biochemistry degrees from University of Michigan.

  • Spencer Cross, FNP

    Spencer earned his Bachelor of Science in nursing at Spring Arbor University and spent five years working in intensive care and emergency department environments. While working on his nurse practitioner degree, he performed clinical rotations at McLaren Northern Michigan MedCenter in both urgent care and family practice. He has been with the Petoskey North location since 2018.

  • Jessica Panoff, PA-C

    Jessica completed Detroit Mercy's five-year accelerated physician assistant program in 2015, a highly competitive and challenging program. Jessica began her career as an inpatient hospitalist, yet her desire for helping others led her to focus on assisting patients with the management of chronic disease — preventing hospitalization whenever possible. Jessica transitioned from acute care to primary care and joined McLaren Northern Michigan MedCenter.

  • Carrie Bollmann, FNP

    Carrie Bollmann is a nurse practitioner with extensive experience in emergency and family medicine and is the main provider at the Boyne City office. Not only does she provide compassionate care for the people in her community, she has also participated in worldwide healthcare missions ranging from Alaska to Guatemala.

  • Ryan Planck, PA-C

    Ryan graduated summa cum laude with his bachelor’s degree from Lake Superior State University, then earned his Master of Science in physician assistant degree from Central Michigan University. He has been with our practice since his clinicals in 2008, and he has great appreciation for the interactive style of medicine practiced at Quick Care and Urgent Care.

  • Whitney Warner, PA-C

    Whitney earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Grand Valley State University and her Bachelor of Science in biomedical sciences from Central Michigan University. Whitney has been a physician assistant with McLaren Northern Michigan MedCenter since 2019.

  • Ariana Spiewak, FNP

    Ariana has nursing experience in cardiology, obstetrics, occupational, urgent and primary care medicine. Ariana earned her Master of Science in nursing degree from the University of Michigan and her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Madonna University. She joined McLaren Northern Michigan MedCenter in 2017 and currently serves as the practice’s wellness provider, performing annual and pre-employment exams and routinely identifying and surveilling chronic medical conditions.

McLaren Northern Michigan MedCenter is a family practice and an urgent care clinic. Each of our providers have their own panel of primary care patients and take appointments as well as walk-ins. Focused on treating the whole person, our family physicians provide ongoing and personal comprehensive health care for people of all ages.

Urgent care

When it is not an emergency, but you need after hours care, McLaren Northern Michigan MedCenter can provide you or your family quick care when you need it. McLaren Northern Michigan MedCenter treats urgent conditions, so you won’t need to go to the emergency room for minor illnesses and injuries such as fevers, flu and cold symptoms, earaches, sprains, cuts, rashes and other minor injuries – we’re open seven days a week.
