McLaren Flint believes it plays a vital role ensuring America’s veterans receive the healthcare they have earned and deserve. As a leading healthcare provider, McLaren Flint welcomes all veterans eligible through the Veterans Choice program as part of our commitment to providing personalized compassionate healthcare to all in the communities we serve.

McLaren Health Care partners with the Veterans Choice Program, providing veterans with the choice to receive care at McLaren locations throughout the state. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) designed the program to provide eligible veterans access to certain medical care when their local VA medical facility cannot readily provide the care due to lack of an available specialist, long wait times, geographic inaccessibility, or other factors.

If you are a veteran receiving service-connected care, your copayments are covered by the VA through the Choice Program. Veterans receiving non-service connected care through other health insurance (OHI) are not covered by the Choice Program. In this case, your private health insurance will be the primary payer and you are responsible for making any copayments at the point of service. Please note that Medicare, Medicaid or TriCare plans are not considered OHI under the Choice Program.
