Michigan Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program (BCCCP)

If you are a woman between 40-64 years of age who is uninsured or underinsured, you may qualify for free breast and cervical screenings through the Michigan Breast & Cervical Cancer Control Program (BCCCP). Women ages 21-39 may qualify as well. Each year you may receive the following services for breast and cervical care.

Breast Care

  • Clinical breast exam
  • Mammogram
  • Follow-up tests
  • If needed, cancer-related treatment

Cervical Care (PAP)

  • Pap test
  • Pelvic exam
  • Follow-up tests
  • If needed, cancer-related treatment 

For Uninsured or Underinsured Women

  • Have an income below 250 percent of federal poverty level 
  • Be uninsured or underinsured
  • Be age 40-64 requiring breast/ cervical screening/ diagnostic/ treatment services 
  • Be age 21-39 referred to the BCCCP with an abnormal Pap test or clinical breast exam which requires breast/cervical diagnostic services

For Insured Women with High Deductible Health Plans

The BCCCP can enroll and provide post-screening diagnostic follow up care (imaging, biopsy, other) for insured women whose deductible creates a financial hardship if they meet the above BCCCP eligibility requirements.
