MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich.—Raising more than $150,000 at the 2017 event, BRAvo 2018 is primed to be another banner year for McLaren Macomb’s annual event promoting breast cancer awareness and other women’s health initiatives. The event benefits the BRAvo for Women program, which has raised almost $1 million to provide much-needed services to a number of women’s health initiatives.

Billed as “A Spectacular Night in ‘Bras Vegas,’ ” BRAvo 2018’s theme, “Don’t Gamble on the Girls,” urges women to get their regular mammogram.

“We continue to be incredibly proud of this event, through the awareness it builds and benefit it brings to all women,” said Pat Keigher, regional director of cancer services at McLaren Macomb and founding member of BRAvo. “So much positivity and goodwill is created that night, and we don’t see it slowing down any time soon.”

The program’s efforts were realized with the recent purchase of a 3D mammography unit using BRAvo-raised funds.

Set for Tues., Oct. 16 at The Palazzo Grande in Shelby Township, the evening will again feature the crowd-favorite, applause-inducing “Dancing With Our Docs,” a spirited dance pairing a McLaren Macomb physician with a breast cancer survivor:
• Family medicine physician Dr. Kurtis Kieleszewski and Debbie Tchakerian
• Emergency medicine physician Dr. Julie Lata and Diana Gambino
• Chief medical officer Dr. Andrew Staricco and Carolyn French
• OB/GYN Dr. Kristopher Weemes and Ann Bieth-Sazehn
