Description

Aquatic Fitness Classes are currently on hold as we resurface our pool and do yearly maintenance.

Please look for classes to resume next month.

General info for Aquatic Fitness Classes:

Multiple classes are offered in the morning and evenings to accommodate all fitness levels. Classes are an hour in length and most are twice a week. Sessions are generally 6 weeks in duration with fees running about $50 - $100/session.

Classes are held in the Ben and Carolyn Benjamin Aquatic Rehabilitation Area. Locker rooms are available but limited to only 2 people at a time. Please arrive with swim wear already on. Water shoes are welcomed but no black soles please.  Bring your own towel and water bottle for hydration.  Please arrive 10 minutes early.

COVID-19 Safeguards:

  • Masks required upon facility entrance and to remain on while in locker room. Mask removed when entering water; placed back on when exiting water.
  • Participants encouraged to arrive in swim wear to reduce locker room need.
  • Spa capacity limited to 2 at a time with each seated on opposite half of spa.
  • Sauna capacity limited to 2.
  • Instructor instructs from pool deck, not in water.
  • Instructor instructs with mask on.
  • Cones placed on pool deck to create a grid marking off 6 areas, 1 for each participant. Participant remains within his/her space during entire fitness workout.
  • Social distancing of 6’ apart to be maintained throughout. Participants dismissed from class in smaller groups to maintain social distancing and assure only 2 in the locker room at a time. Classes purposely not scheduled back to back to aid in this as well.
  • Handrails and door handles are sanitized after each class.
  • Aquatic fitness equipment (paddles, noodles, weights, etc.) used in the water are safe to return to rack after a simple dip and swish in the water. No further sanitation is required. Chemicals (bromine) in pool water kills viruses and bacteria.
