Description

Join our online art therapy group, along with our online music therapy group for a session mixing the two art forms. This group session is open to those who are survivors in cancer treatment, family members and friends of those receiving cancer treatment or of survivors, and individuals going through post treatment. Meet other individuals touched by cancer who are seeking emotional support, creativity, and education.

Art therapy is a visual form of expression used to promote self-discovery, externalize emotions, and
reduce stress. Basic art materials will be used within this group to enhance the therapeutic experience. If you do not have basic art supplies at home, we can provide them for you.

Group activities involve singing, instrument playing, music and movement, improvisation, drum circles, songwriting, lyric analysis, and more! Music therapy can help decrease anxiety, increase self-expression, increase relaxation coping skills, reminiscence and family bonding.

Art or music experience is not needed to participate in this free program.
The sessions are offered online through Zoom. Please RSVP 24 hours in advance. Email erin.simonetti@mclaren.org to save your spot.

**Make sure you have the Zoom app downloaded on your computer or smartphone. Visit Zoom.us to download the app for your computer. For your phone or tablet, the Zoom app is available through the App Store and Google Play Store. Your computer or smartphone will need a speaker and a camera.
