McLaren Northern Michigan is pleased to welcome cardiologist Sylvie-Karine Giroux, MD, to Michigan Heart and Vascular Specialists in Sault Ste. Marie.
Dr. Giroux came to McLaren Northern Michigan from Las Cruces, New Mexico where she worked at Memorial Medical Center and Mountainview Regional Medical Center. She received her medical degree from Laval University and completed her Internal Medicine Residency at McGill University and Cardiovascular Disease Residency at Washington Hospital Center, Georgetown University. Dr. Giroux is board certified in internal medicine and cardiology with special interest in nuclear imaging, echocardiography, cardiovascular disease, and cardiac genetics.
Working for Michigan Heart and Vascular Specialist in Sault Ste. Marie of McLaren Northern Michigan, Dr. Giroux will care for patients both in an office setting as well as at War Memorial Hospital.
“I treat patients for their heart conditions, but also treat the soul. It is amazing what compassion and empathy can do for a patient’s wellbeing,” stated Dr. Giroux.
A Quebec, Canada native, Dr. Giroux is looking forward to caring for patients in the Sault Ste. Marie area. In her spare time she enjoys tennis, travel, cooking, and spending time with family.
