McLaren Oakland earns “Partner in Progress” award from City of Pontiac

McLaren Oakland, the 328-bed acute care Oakland County provider located in downtown Pontiac, earned recognition for its spirit of inclusion and service to the community with the “Partners in Progress” award.

Awarded by the City of Pontiac and Mayor Deirdre Waterman, organizations are chosen based on their efforts and initiatives that “better serve our communities, grow our city, create a positive image, and foster the spirit and unity of inclusiveness.”

“During these times when a welcomed emphasis is being placed on the importance of inclusion and unified communities, I’m very proud of the fact that our hospital has a significant history of meaningful community involvement,” said Margaret Dimond, Ph.D., McLaren Oakland president and CEO. “While we’re dedicated to the health of all of Oakland County, we feel a strong connection to the city, the people of Pontiac, and its bright future. We’re grateful to be recognized with this award.”

McLaren Oakland regularly and enthusiastically supports local Pontiac initiatives by sponsoring or hosting city events and donating to give-back programs. Dimond is also a member of the McLaren Health Care Diversity and Inclusion Council, a forum of leaders from across McLaren Health Care whose aim is to champion and support diversity and inclusion initiatives for the health system’s employees and the communities it serves.
