stroke smart webinar

No one chooses to have a stroke, but everyone can learn the signs of one. The community is invited to join Aniel Majjhoo, MD, board-certified interventional neurologist, and Medical Director of Neurosciences and the McLaren Stroke Network at McLaren Health Care, for a live webinar to discuss what a stroke is, who is at risk for one, and the importance of learning the signs of stroke. This free educational program is being held on Wednesday, May 19 at 6 p.m. Dr. Majjhoo will take questions following his presentation. Registration is easy and can be made at mclaren.org/flintbestrokesmart.

Stroke remains one of the leading causes of death across the country and the number one preventable cause of disability here in Michigan. McLaren Flint is proud to be the region’s first Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, a designation earned in 2016. To be eligible for the designation, hospitals must demonstrate compliance with stroke-related standards as a Primary Stroke Center and meet additional requirements, including those related to advanced imaging capabilities, 24/7 availability of specialized treatments, and providing staff with the unique education and competencies to care for complex stroke patients.
