McLaren Bay Region Announces New President & CEO

McLaren Bay Region has named Darrell Lentz as the organizations new President and CEO. Lentz has been serving as President and CEO of McLaren Central Michigan since August of 2020 and will succeed Clarence Sevillian, who served as the president and CEO since 2014.

Darrell holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Bentley College and a Master of Business Administration from New Hampshire College. Prior to joining McLaren, Lentz served as the President of Aspirus Wausau Hospital, which provides patient care in 14 counties across northern and central Wisconsin and into Michigan’s U.P. Over the course of a 20-year career in hospital and health system operations management, Lentz has worked in various parts of the country, allowing him to gain experience covering the entire continuum of healthcare in a variety of settings. These settings include small rural hospitals, critical access, faith-based, for-profit, large academic and multi-hospital health systems.

“We are fortunate to have Darrell join our team at McLaren Bay Region,” stated Gary Bosco, chairman of the McLaren Bay Region board of directors. “He brings extensive health care leadership experience with a focus on doing what’s best for patients. We are confident he will be a great fit for our organization and community.”

Darrell and his wife Angela have two adult daughters, Mackenzie and Grace.

“In addition to his new position at McLaren Bay Region, Darrell will also retain his current position as President and CEO of McLaren Central Michigan,” stated Chad Grant, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Office of McLaren Health Care. “Growth and expansion of services while continuing to provide world-class health care to the communities we serve, will be among his primary goals.”

Lentz will begin his role on August 1, 2021.
