McLaren Port Huron named a High Performing Hospital by U.S. News & World Report

Port Huron, MI – McLaren Port Huron has been recognized as a High Performing Hospital for 2022-23 by U.S. News & World Report. The annual Procedures & Conditions ratings, now in their 8th year, are designed to assist patients and their doctors in making informed decisions about where to receive care for common conditions and procedures.

McLaren Port Huron earned High Performing ratings for:

  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
  • Heart Attack
  • Heart Failure
  • Kidney Failure

These ratings recognize that the care at McLaren Port Huron was significantly better than the national average, as measured by factors such as patient outcomes. “High Performing” is the highest rating U.S. News awards for those types of care.

“Every day, we’re fortunate to have a team of physicians, nurses and health care professionals who commit themselves to providing the highest quality care for our community,” said Eric Cecava, President and CEO of McLaren Port Huron. “Being recognized as a High Performing Hospital, among some of the nation’s best health care providers, is an honor.”

The 2022-23 survey evaluated more than 4,500 medical centers nationwide. Fewer than half of all hospitals received a high-performing rating in any condition or procedure. The ratings are based on objective measures of quality such as risk-adjusted outcome rates, volume, quality of nursing and other care-related indicators.
