Below is information about how to schedule and start a virtual visit with your physician
Call the office and request a virtual visit.
If your medical need can be managed by a telehealth visit, the office will assist you in scheduling an appointment.
Telehealth appointments are confidential visits between a patient (regardless of location) and provider. Patients can participate in telehealth visits using any web-camera-enabled device such as a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a web camera installed.
Receive an email with login instructions
Once the appointment is scheduled, the patient will receive an email from mclaren.org with a link to the “virtual waiting room” the day before the visit.
Login 15 minutes prior to your visit
On the day of the visit, the patient is contacted by a staff member from the office about 15 minutes before the scheduled appointment to assist the patient in entering the “Virtual Waiting Room”.
Dr. Boike graduated from Harvard College and Wayne State University School of Medicine, before completing a residency in obstetrics/gynecology at Wayne State University and a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the University of Miami. Dr. Boike practiced in Flint and the tri-city area for 20 years before becoming director of gynecologic oncology at McLaren Bay Region and Karmanos Cancer Institute Bay Region in January 2016.
Dr. Boike began performing laparoscopic surgery in 1991, shortly after its development, and he participated in all six national studies of laparoscopic surgery for gynecologic cancers. He developed and was the program director for a series of national training courses that were offered to all the gynecologic oncology fellows-in-training and their faculty. Dr. Boike was one of the early drivers in the evolution and development of minimally invasive surgery for gynecologic cancers. With the approval of the da Vinci Robotic System® in 2006, he again established himself as a national leader and has now performed over 1,400 procedures.
McLaren offers several robot-assisted gynecologic surgeries to minimize pain and scarring and to speed recovery.
