My mission is to practice excellent clinical cardiology with an emphasis on exceeding my patients expectations regarding beside manner and compassionate care. I strive to use the latest research on procedures, medications, diet, and exercise to prevent and treat cardiovascular disease. My clinical practice is directed towards echocardiography, valvular heart disease, congestive heart failure, and structural heart disease.
I serve McLaren Northern Michigan as the Medical Director of Cardiovascular Imaging (Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, Vascular Ultrasound), Member of the Physician Oversight Committee (Group leadership body), Credentials Committee, Adult Critical Care Committee, and McLaren Northern Michigan Foundation Board Member
As a Medical Director of the Cardiac and Vascular Research Center of Northern Michigan, I have been involved in every aspect of industry and NIH sponsored clinical research. I am the local primary investigator on numerous Phase IIb clinical trials. I hope that my involvement in clinical research allows my patients to be exposed to cutting edge care.
I grew up in Rochester, Michigan and received my undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. I completed my residency at the University of California, San Francisco. After working for a year as a hospitalist, I received a 3 year Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Michigan Health System and started work as a cardiologist at McLaren Northern Michigan in June of 2011.
