2021 Specialist VBR Results
BCBSM of Michigan has released the results of the 2021 Specialist Value-Based Reimbursement (VBR) program. The VBR program is initiated through the Physician Group Incentive Program (PGIP) and your participation is administered by McLaren Physician Partners (MPP). The quality care that Specialists are providing to their patients allows them to earn Specialist Value-Based Reimbursement. In 2021, 70% of MPP Specialists achieved VBR. Specialist physicians participating in PGIP through MPP earned over $3,700,000 in VBR revenue in calendar year 2019.
The Specialist VBR runs for a full year that began 3/1/2021 and runs through 2/28/2022. MPP mailed your Specialist VBR packet that contains your specific results as well as resources to be eligible for and maintain your VBR.
If you have a VBR uplift in 2021, please ensure your fee schedule is set above the VBR award to maximize your revenue. A lesser of charges rule applies to your billings, meaning the VBR cannot be added to billings and you forfeit the additional amount for which you are eligible.
MPP will be hosting two webinars to highlight the Value Based Reimbursement program, physician dashboards, FAQ’s and tools. Please register via the link provided. This Key Staff webinar will count for the 2021 Key Conversation metric with physician and/or office champion attendance.
