The Area Agency on Aging 1-B enhances the lives of older adults and adults with disabilities. They provide information and assistance on thousands of services and resources including Medicare and Medicaid assistance, out-of-home care, senior driving information and senior center locations. is the leading online destination for those seeking information and support as they care for aging parents, spouses, and other loved ones. They equip family caregivers to make better decisions, save time and money, and feel less alone -- and less stressed -- as they face the many challenges of caregiving.

Lifeline is the number one medical alert service in the United States. Lifeline has enabled millions of people to live with greater independence, peace of mind and dignity in the place they feel most comfortable -- their own homes. The Lifeline service also helps family caregivers to balance the needs of their loved ones with the demands of their own busy lives.

Meals on Wheels  
The Area Agency on Aging 1-B supports Meals on Wheels and senior dining programs in six counties in Southeast Michigan and Metropolitan Detroit. Home delivered meals (Meals on Wheels) are available to any individual who is age 60 and over and meets program eligibility requirements. (Note this program is not based on income but the inability to adequately prepare meals).
