The Bariatric Center of Michigan at McLaren Port Huron was recently re-accredited as a Comprehensive Center by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP) – a joint program of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. The Bariatric Center of Michigan at McLaren Port Huron is the only MBSAQIP-designated program in St. Clair County.

Since 2002, McLaren Port Huron has performed more than 3,500 bariatric procedures in the Blue Water Community. The Center offers all types of bariatric procedures, including gastric banding, intragastric balloons, laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, robotic assisted-sleeve gastrectomy and robotic-assisted gastric bypass (Roux-en-Y).
