Join us for the winter Savvy Seniors Series

Port Huron, MI – McLaren Port Huron will present a winter session of the popular Savvy Seniors Series, an educational series focused on enhancing the quality of life for seniors in any stage of life. This free series begins in January and continues through March. The theme is Life Resource Planning: Spend Wisely and Plan Successfully. 

The first session features CPA Scott A. Ryan and the staff from Austin, Niester, Schweihofer and Finnegan, P.C., presenting practical ideas for budgeting that will make managing your finances easy. Budgeting 101 takes place Tuesday, January 16, 10 a.m., in the 55 Plus Classroom, McLaren Port Huron Jefferson Building. The Jefferson Building is located at 1320 Washington Avenue, Port Huron.

The second session, Estate and Long-Term Planning, takes place Tuesday, February 6, 10 am., in the 55 Plus Classroom, McLaren Port Huron Jefferson Building. Presentations from the staff of the Kelly Law Firm, Long-term Care Solutions and Duda Financial will teach you how to prepare for your future by planning ahead. 

In the third session, you’ll learn tips for staying organized. Have you ever wondered, “Where did I put that?” Terri Closs from As You Wish Organizing will teach you how to stay organized so that important documents and paperwork are readily available, making life easier for you and your loved ones. Vital Records Organization takes place Tuesday, March 6, 10 a.m., at Marwood Nursing & Rehab, 1300 Beard Street, Port Huron.

The final session focuses on the importance of having a will. Chuck Kelly and Kellen Elliott of the Kelly Law Firm will provide useful information on the basic steps of creating a will that works for you and your loved ones. Creating a Will that Works for You takes place Tuesday, March 13, 10 a.m., in the 55 Plus Clasroom, McLaren Port Huron Jefferson Building.
