Savvy Seniors Series focuses on senior health

Published on Wednesday, June 20, 2018
Port Huron, MI – McLaren Port Huron presents a summer session of the popular Savvy Seniors Series, an educational series focused on enhancing the quality of life for seniors in any stage of life. This free series begins in July and continues in September. The theme is Senior Health.

As people get older, physiological changes occur in their body as a natural part of aging. Being aware of these changes and adopting a healthy lifestyle can reduce the impact on overall health. Join Nurse Practitioner Diane Schunk, Marwood Nursing & Rehab, for an in-depth discussion. Breakfast will be served. Successful Aging takes place Thursday, July 19, 9:30 am., in the McLaren Port Huron Duffy Classrooms.

Music can promote positive health. In Music for Your Mind, Body and Soul, board certified Music Therapist Holly Semrow, Marwood Nursing & Rehab, will lead an enlightening music therapy session to teach participants ways to use music to improve their lives. Lunch will be served. This session takes place Tuesday, September 18, 11:30 a.m., at Marwood Nursing & Rehab, 1300 Beard Street, Port Huron.

Both programs in the series are free, but registration is required. To register or for more information, visit mclaren.org/phevents or call HealthAccess at 1-800-228-1484.
