Lab Technical Assistant
$1,000 sign-on bonus available

At McLaren Port Huron, Lab Technical Assistants performs tasks in all laboratory areas under the direction of the appropriate laboratory personnel. A Lab Technical Assistant:

  • Performs specimen collection at in-house or off-site locations
  • Instructs patients in the collection of specimens as necessary
  • Enters pathology specimens into various computerized information systems

Become an LPN

At McLaren Port Huron, LPNs provide direct patient care to the adult and geriatric patient population under the direction of a Registered Nurse. An LPN will contribute to:

What’s a certified nurse assistant?

A certified nurse assistant (or CNA) provides hands-on health care to patients, under the direction of a registered nurse. In your role, you’ll:

  • Communicate closely with patients, families, department staff and medical staff.
  • Support nursing by performing basic nursing care for patients
  • Assist and maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Maintain patient privacy, dignity and confidentiality, and respect patients’ rights

Interested in becoming a Certified Nurse Assistant?

McLaren Port Huron is working with Michigan Healthcare Academy to provide an opportunity for those interested in becoming a Certified Nurse Assistant. Those interested in the program will complete a two-week course and, in most cases, be offered a full-time position at McLaren Port Huron upon completion. Courses are offered monthly.
