McLaren Greater Lansing has earned the Advanced Certification for Primary Stroke Centers by The Joint Commission. The Joint Commission is an independent, not-for-profit organization that accredits and certifies health care organizations and programs in the United States, symbolizing quality and commitment performance standards.
The certification is in recognition of McLaren Greater Lansing's Primary Stroke Center's dedication to providing quality care and achieving positive outcomes. Effective August 18, 2017, the certification was awarded for a two-year period.
The achievement was earned after rigorous onsite evaluation by reviewers with stroke expertise, ensuring the program met The Joint Commission’s standards for stroke-related care, which include program management, delivery of clinical care and performance improvement.
Certification is available only to acute-care hospitals already accredited by The Joint Commission.
