McLaren Northern Michigan is pleased to announce that gastroenterologist, Cale Sebald, DO, has joined McLaren Northern Michigan Digestive Health, working alongside James Doull, MD, Kyle Robertson, DO, and Luke McCrone, MD.
“Growing up in a family full of health care workers, medicine always was a path that I have been on. My family has been so supportive during my medical schooling and career. My mother is an interventional radiology PA-C, my father is a retired sale manager, and my sister is an oncology nurse. Their support has been invaluable and has led me to where I am today,” expressed Dr. Sebald.

He completed his internal medicine residency at Mercy Health in Muskegon, and completed his gastroenterology fellowship at St. Johns Health System – Oakland Hospital.
A Michigan native, Dr. Sebald spent many summers and holidays in the Petoskey area. “I have always loved the area and people which led me to McLaren Northern Michigan. I was impressed with the sense of community and teamwork displayed by the staff. There is singular focus to provide the best medical care possible and I knew that was something I wanted to be a part of,” said Dr. Sebald.
As a gastroenterologist, Dr. Sebald can see patients for all digestive health needs and has a special interest in Eosinophilic Esophagitis management as well as the treatment and eradication of Hepatitis C. “My passion for helping others and science made medicine a logical choice. I love to come to work every day and could not be happier with the career path I chose,” said Dr. Sebald.
In his free time, Dr. Sebald enjoys long distance running, working out, and spending time family, friends, and his Airedale Terrier Beatrice.
