Joe Stubblefield is Honored with Extraordinary Employee of the Season Award

Joe Stubblefield, facilities maintenance manager, was honored as the newest recipient of McLaren Greater Lansing’s Extraordinary Employee of the Season Award.

Joe Stubblefield, facilities maintenance manager, was honored as the newest recipient of McLaren Greater Lansing’s Extraordinary Employee of the Season Award. This award acknowledges any employee in the hospital system for the extraordinary work they do.

Stubblefield’s nomination, submitted by a coworker, said: “Joe is not only a great manager, but also a fantastic team member at McLaren. His ability to connect with people is nothing short of amazing. Joe always takes the time to help with whatever challenge is thrown his way. He has a unique talent when it comes to dealing with challenges. He makes his team feel appreciated, and the vendors all appreciate that they have a manager like Joe to deal with.”

The nominator went on to say, “He always has time for his team and members of the hospital staff. On several occasions, I have witnessed Joe stopping whatever he was doing to help visitors find their way to their desired location. He’s the type of employee who will pick up a piece of trash lying on the floor or stop you in the hallway to just say hello. In short, Joe represents McLaren Greater Lansing Hospital in the best of ways!”

The Extraordinary Employee of the Season Award is

given out to an individual each quarter. Nominees can be clinical or non-clinical staff at all levels and are chosen internally by McLaren staff.

Joe has worked at McLaren for two and a half years. During his recognition, he showed his gratitude for his team, appreciating their support and team efforts.

“Every day I am given new challenges and tasks, which drive me to become a better person and leader here at MGL,” said Joe. “The hospital staff, MGL leadership, and my facilities team are the reason I love my job. The facilities department plays a big role in maintaining the hospital’s infrastructure, which is a crucial task that helps ensure support staff and physicians are able to provide excellent health care. Knowing my job in leadership is very important helps me motivate and encourage my team to ensure the hospital is maintained at a top-notch level.”
