McLaren Flint is pleased to announce October’s Outstanding Employee of the Month, Janssen Villarreal. Villarreal was recognized by hospital leadership on October 28, 2022. Below is an excerpt from a nomination submitted on his behalf.
“Janssen is a remarkable example for the nursing profession,” said Lana Mesack, MSN, RN patient care educator at McLaren Flint. “He is kind and shows genuine compassion to his patients, their families, and his colleagues. He is a true patient advocate and goes above and beyond to ensure that his patients receive the best care. He is a reliable team player and often makes personal sacrifices to assist others. He continuously seeks out learning experiences and self-study knowing how important continuing education is to the nursing profession so that he can provide the best evidence-based care and teach others. He is respected by his management team and peers, and is always "doing what's right”, even when he thinks no one is watching.”
The Outstanding Employee of the Month candidates are nominated by managers, directors, and McLaren Flint’s executive leadership team. Criteria for nomination are based on the hospital’s mission and core values: contribution to culture and core values, teamwork, going the extra mile, outstanding patient service, performance excellence, and commitment.
