McLaren Greater Lansing Foundation to Host State of the State of Healthcare on June 12

LANSING, Mich. – Robert Laszewski, a nationally-recognized expert on federal healthcare policy, will be the keynote speaker at the State of the State of Healthcare at the Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center on June 12.

The luncheon, which will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., is organized by McLaren Greater Lansing Foundation’s Business Partners in Health Committee. The committee’s goal is to “be the catalyst for promoting health and wellness education to local businesses and the region’s workforce.”

Laszewski, who founded Policy and Strategy Associates, LLC, in 1992, has appeared on media outlets such as CBS, NBC, Fox, CNN, MSNBC, PBS, and NPR, to discuss federal healthcare policy. He has also been quoted regularly in newspapers such as the New York Times, Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, and USA Today. His presentation at the State of the State of Healthcare will be entitled “Health Care Politics and Policy: Navigating Change.”

“We are delighted to have someone as respected as Bob Laszewski speak about federal healthcare policy,” said Scott S. Stewart, chair of the McLaren Greater Lansing Foundation Board of Trustees. “He has the ability to take this complicated topic and break it down into terms that non-experts can understand.”

Brenda J. Geoghegan, co-chair of the Business Partners in Health Committee, concurred with Stewart.

“One of the goals of this event is to educate business and medical professionals about health care industry trends, and what to expect in the future,” she said. “By doing that, we can help them prepare for change, and also emphasize the importance of having a healthy workforce.”
