Two new members join McLaren Greater Lansing Board of Trustees

McLaren Greater Lansing is delighted to welcome Victor Celentino and Andre Hutson as the newest members of its board of trustees.
Celentino is in his 11th term representing District 1 on the Ingham County Board of Commissioners, and has been a special education teacher in the Lansing School District since 1992.
Hutson is a former Michigan State University men’s basketball standout who is owner and founder of Conquest Fitness, as well as Hutson Contracting.
Both are eagerly anticipating the opening of the new McLaren hospital in March of next year.
“Providing quality and accessible healthcare services for our citizens has always been a personal priority for me,” Celentino said. “As a member of the McLaren Greater Lansing board, I see this as an opportunity to participate in the deliberation of providing quality healthcare services for our community.”
Celentino is a lifelong resident of Lansing Township who graduated from Waverly High School and earned an associate’s degree in Liberal Arts from Lansing Community College. He also has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Olivet College, and a master’s degree in Special Education from Western Michigan University.
He was a Lansing Township trustee from 1992-2000, and is currently a member of the NAACP, Italian American Club of Lansing, St. Gerard Catholic Church, National Education Association, Michigan Education Association, Lansing Schools Education Association, and Ingham County Democratic Party.
Hutson is an Ohio native who was a four-year starter for the MSU men’s basketball team from 1997-2001. The Spartans advanced to three consecutive Final Fours from 1999-2001, and won the NCAA title in 2000. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Finance in 2001, Hutson played professional basketball for nine seasons for various teams based in Italy, Greece, Russia, and Turkey.
He has previously served as co-chair of the Capital Area United Way, and has been a member of the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness. He has served on The Aitch Foundation board since 2012, run the annual Andre Hutson Basketball Camp since 2014, and has been the director of Quest Basketball since 2015.
“My goal on the McLaren Greater Lansing board is to stay informed on how the hospital is operating and affecting our community from a health and safety standpoint,” Hutson said. “In addition, I want to do my part to make sure the Greater Lansing region receives the best healthcare available without having to travel miles away.”
Kirk Ray, McLaren Greater Lansing’s President and CEO, is excited to have Celentino and Hutson on the hospital board.
“I am confident their passion for the Mid-Michigan community and dedication to service will enhance our board’s effectiveness,” he said. “We would like our board to reflect the make-up of Lansing and the surrounding area, and Victor and Andre bring different life experiences to their positions.”
