McLaren Leader Earns DAISY Award For Nursing Excellence

Congratulations to Betsy Felton on her recent achievement as a recipient of the prestigious DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. Betsy was selected among 809 nominees to receive this esteemed recognition. The DAISY award is an international recognition program that honors and celebrates nurses who demonstrate outstanding nursing skills, knowledge, compassion and inspiration.

Betsy has worked at McLaren since 1990, holding several clinical and leadership positions. She currently serves as Corporate Director of the Cardiovascular Service Line at McLaren Health Care. Betsy recently earned a Master of Science degree in Nursing, and she also holds a Master of Business Administration degree and a Master of Science degree in Nursing. Her community service includes chairing the Lapeer County Suicide Prevention initiative and serving as a member of the Lapeer Community Foundation, the Lapeer Area Citizens Against Domestic Violence, and the Lapeer County Chamber of Commerce. She also was named Lapeer County Citizen of the Year in 2018.

“I was completely blown away when I got the news that I had been selected to receive a DAISY award,” Betsy noted. “The DAISY award stands for both clinical excellence and compassion, and to be recognized for embodying both of those aspects of nursing is very fulfilling. I have always strived to be a master of my craft, and this award symbolizes that to me.”
