McLaren Macomb BRAvo returns for 2022

MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich.—BRAvo for Women, the breast cancer event benefitting care at the Karmanos Cancer Institute at McLaren Macomb, has set its return for Oct. 25. Put on hold throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, this marks the first time the annual event will be held since 2019.

Hosted at The Mirage in Clinton Township, the evening will again feature spirited entertainment provided by breast cancer survivors — teams composed of McLaren Macomb physicians and survivors will compete in a Lip Sync Battle.

“BRAvo was an evening circled on many calendars, and rightly so,” said Tom Brisse, McLaren Macomb president and CEO. “The energy and positivity shared on that night is something that can only be experienced firsthand. We are all excited to welcome BRAvo back and look forward to resuming its traditions.”

In its history, the event has raised more than $1 million for the benefit of several women’s health initiatives, which includes funding the BRAvo for Women mammogram program and the purchase of a 3D mammography machine.

“We’re thrilled to be back and again offer BRAvo as an evening of celebration and awareness,” said Pat Keigher, McLaren regional director of cancer services. “Over the years, this has become more than a fundraising event. It’s a night of fun, empowerment and shared experiences, all in the name of a great cause. We can’t wait to see everyone again.”

BRAvo 2022, themed “Heard it through the grapevine,” in addition to the evening’s entertainment, will feature a plated dinner, several raffles and a tribute to cancer survivors.
