Primary Care Provider Katie Martin, PA-C, has joined the practice of Paula DeKeyser, DO, and Donald Watson, DO, at McLaren Northern Michigan Internal & Family Medicine, located at 740 S. Main Street Suite 2D in the Cheboygan Community Medical Center.
Katie received a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Science from Michigan State University and attended the Physician Assistant Program at Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia where she received her Master of Medical Science.
Born in Marquette and raised in Bay City, Katie is a lifelong Michigander. “When I was looking for a place to practice, working with Dr. Watson and Dr. DeKeyser was a great fit. The staff was so welcoming and kind. I enjoyed the positive feel of the office,” expressed Katie.
Prior to going into the Physician Assistant program, Katie’s health care career started in nutrition. “I have a passion for overall wellness and preventative medicine. I love talking to patients about weight management, exercise, and holistic approaches to managing issues,” added Katie.
Katie’s favorite part of primary care is building relationships with her patients. “I truly want to help people feel better and to feel as though I am on their team as they navigate through various health issues.”
In her free time, Katie enjoys spending time with her husband, three children ages 2, 4, and 6, and her German short-haired pointer named Otis.
