Primary Care Provider Gretchen Burrus, Family Nurse Practitioner, has joined the McLaren Northern Michigan – Gaylord Family Practice, located at 1320 E. M-32 in Gaylord.
A Cheboygan native, Burrus always knew she wanted to live and work in northern Michigan. Prior to becoming a primary care provider, Burrus was a registered nurse in both a hospital and private care setting. She observed trusting patient relationships with primary care doctors, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants for many years and knew she wanted to pursue a career in family medicine. “I enjoy building meaningful and trusting relationships with my patients and families,” said Burrus. “Getting to know my patients and their families on a personal level provides a clear and complete picture of comprehensive care.”
Burrus received a Master’s Degree in Nursing from Kaplan University and received certification from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioner Certification Board.
In her free time, Burrus likes spending time in the sun reading and gardening. She enjoys quality time with friends and family which includes her son, three daughters, and two sons-in-law.
