Dr. Aaron Brown is a board-certified urologist at McLaren Northern Michigan with more than 15 years of experience in advanced urologic care. He specializes in robotic surgery, endourology, complex stone disease, prostate cancer management, and specialized office-based procedures including MRI/US fusion-targeted prostate biopsy.
Dr. Brown earned his medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine and completed his urology residency at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center. He also holds a Master of Science in Biology from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Michigan-Flint.
Previously serving as managing partner of Alaska Urology, the state's largest urology practice, Dr. Brown brings extensive expertise in clinical leadership and specialty care delivery. His unique background includes serving as an Assistant Professor of Biology in rural Alaska, where he taught in one of the nation's most remote communities—an experience that shaped his commitment to bringing specialized care to underserved populations. He also contributed to medical education as adjunct clinical faculty for the University of Washington Department of Urology, training future urologists.
Dr. Brown played a key role in bringing the Michigan Urological Surgery Improvement Collaborative (MUSIC) to McLaren Northern Michigan, strengthening evidence-based care pathways for urologic conditions. He serves on the Medical Executive Committee, Medical Staff Quality Committee, and Patient and Family Advisory Committee.
Dr. Brown and his wife, Anastasia, enjoy spending time outdoors with their family of six sons.
