Dr. Michael J D'Almeida is a McLaren Macomb board-certified general surgeon who specializes in advanced laparoscopic surgical procedures, trauma/oncologic surgery and in nutrition/metabolic medicine. He is a graduate of the University of the Health Sciences, College Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri. He completed his general surgery residency at Mount Clemens General Hospital and has been in his surgical practice for over 24 years, 4 years of which as an active duty US Naval Surgeon. He was the previous director for the Great Lakes Bariatric Treatment Center affiliated with Mount Clemens General Hospital and has performed over 400 Bariatric procedures. He is the director for the Nutrition and Metabolic Support Team for Macomb McLaren Hospital. He is proficient in endoscopy procedures including both upper and lower endoscopy.
